JAZZBERRY TUNES

Established by Middle East Technical University students and graduates in 2014 under the leadership of Conductor Yiğit Deniz and Mustafa Çağlayan Durmaz, Jazzberry Tunes aspires novelty in its performances and repertoire, and tries to expand the boundaries of choral music.

 

To date, the choir has performed contemporary pieces in 14 different languages from various cultures and includes works by Türkiye’s most esteemed composers in its repertoire.

The choir represented Türkiye for the first time in Les Choralies Festival in France in 2019. In 2022, Jazzberry Tunes participated in the prestigious organization of the European Choral Association, Leading Voices, in Utrecht, Netherlands. In 2023, Jazzberry Tunes participated in the World Symposium on Choral Music held in Istanbul and was selected as one of the seven choirs from Türkiye by the Artistic Committee of the International Federation for Choral Music to perform at the symposium’s closing concert. Last July, the choir performed at iconic venues such as Sagrada Familia, Montserrat, and Santa Maria del Pi as part of the Barcelona International Choral Music Festival, garnering significant attention.

In 2025, Jazzberry Tunes is set to represent Türkiye at one of Europe’s most prestigious choral competitions.
